Introduction...

LexNET is a "virtual deposition room or courtroom" which enables the legal professionals to attend a deposition remotely.

There are three components to the LexNET offering.

  1. Winner Realtime Transcription -- Our court reporter clients may use their transcription software to broadcast ("relay") realtime testimony to a web client via our LexNET servers.  Each client will be assigned to a secured room  for the required duration.  The testimony broadcast module is built into every Winner software.  A standard Internet connection is needed to allow a Winner user (court reporter) to communicate with the LexNET server.
  2. LexNET Server -- The server software is the backbone of the offering.  ProCAT operates the server software for the benefit of its users.  The computer that runs the server software is in a secured environment behind a firewall to protect the integrity of the data.  Each server is capable of operating several "virtual deposition rooms."  We will rent the virtual rooms by day, week, or month.  When needed, a client calls ProCAT to reserve a virtual room.  A room number will be assigned to client.  The room number will be inserted into the Winner software to allow it to relay the testimony.
  3. Web Client Plug-in -- The third component of the offering is the software that the legal professional uses to view the realtime testimony ("LexNET browser").  The browser is a signed plug-in that automatically uploads into the web client's computer when the user enters a room.  A standard Internet  connection is needed to connect to the LexNET server.  Once a user is authenticated and the browser is uploaded into the client's computer, the testimony will appear.  The browser will enable the user to annotate the testimony, place bookmarks, prepare paralegal reports and save the realtime documents on their computers.
